Restaurants serving food at this year's inaugural Mad City Vegan Fest, June 19 at the Goodman Center, will be the Dandelion cart and Chicago's A Delicious Cafe. The Goodman Center's Ironworks Cafe is also planning to feature some vegan specials that day, says Vegan Fest press liaison Carrie O'Connor. Other area eateries will be providing samples at the free event, including Middleton's Bloom Bake Shop, the Green Owl, Whole Foods and the Willy Street Co-op.
There will also be speakers and cooking demos, with Terry Hope Romero (author of the cookbooks Veganomicon and Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World) and Kelly Peloza (The Vegan Cookie Connoisseur). For more info, see veganfest.org.
