Picnic Point bikes weren't the problem
In response to your item about not allowing bikes on Picnic Point (Watchdog, 5/27/11): My wife and I have walked and jogged on Picnic Point hundreds of times and never had any problems with the bike riders. Our problems have come from bike riders who ride through the Hoofers area and Memorial Union. As long as I'm at it...why aren't there any lights for safety along these paths?

Comment was disrespectful
I have read and commented on your address of gay issues from time to time, and once again I must comment on the lack of intelligent or fluid thought of your writer on this issue. Your writer (Tell All, 6/3/11) suggests that gifts wouldn't change for gay men [from those traditionally given for anniversaries], leaving out a huge population of the gay community, namely all the women.
Your writer then suggests using the day the letter writer and his partner met and then suggests this may be the same as the day they first had sex. I don't know if I've ever read such a disrespectful comment to a letter writer.Your writer disregards the letter writer's intent to spark a debate on the issue of inequality, and says that, in short, gay couples don't deserve the same respect because more than likely they take their relationship less seriously.
