Live-blogging the Wisconsin Assembly's 2011 budget bill Extraordinary Session

The Wisconsin legislature's Extraordinary Session opened Tuesday, commencing an exceptionally busy day that included passage of concealed carry and preemption of municipal tenancy laws, the announcement that UW-Madison Chancellor Biddy Martin would be departing for Amherst, and the state Supreme Court decision reversing a ruling that the Act 10 collective bargaining bill was passed in violation of the state Opens Meeting Law. Moreover, the Assembly was scheduled to begin deliberations on the biannual budget, but the proceedings were delayed late into the evening, and eventually rescheduled for Wednesday.

The Assembly is taking up the budget today, and a long session with numerous amendments is expected. As the session continues, we'll be pulling feeds from Twitter about it through discussions about the #extraordinarysession and #wibudget. Follow the action here, and please add your own observations and questions.

As always, we'll attempt to pull in relevant Twitter feeds and call your attention to other online coverage. If you're looking for a mobile version of this, simply install the CoverItLive app and search for Wisconsin.
