Electric cars up, Madison schools down

UP: Electric cars. Madison is contemplating teaming up with Madison Gas & Electric to install charging stations at five city parking lots. "We're starting to see more cars that would use stations," Ald. Chris Schmidt tells the Wisconsin State Journal. "It's a good idea environmentally."

DOWN: Madison schools. With the state budget finalized, the Madison school district finally learns the full damage, and the picture isn't pretty. It will get $6.7 million less in state aid than last year, a 13.5% drop from $50 million. The district isn't alone, as 410 of the state's 424 school districts saw a drop in state aid.
