Madison Museum of Contemporary Art up, Democrats down

UP: Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. For the first time in its 110-year history, the museum owns its building, purchasing its part of the Overture Center for $1, as agreed upon late last year by the Common Council. The museum now owns 51,500 square feet of interior space in the Overture Center, including the 7,100-square-foot rooftop sculpture garden, the museum store and Fresco restaurant.

DOWN: Democrats. Though regaining the Senate was always a tall order in six recall elections Tuesday, the Democrats were nevertheless deflated after winning only two of six seats, falling one short of their goal. "The revolution has not occurred," UW-Milwaukee political science professor Mordecai Lee, a former Democratic lawmaker, tells the Wisconsin State Journal. "The proletariat did not take over the streets."
