Manna Cafe & Bakery, 611 N. Sherman Ave., will be closed for remodeling until Jan. 22. On Jan. 23 it will reopen with expanded evening hours (Tuesday-Saturday until 9 p.m.) and a new dinner menu.
Brasserie V will hold an open house 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Jan. 12 to benefit chef Rob Grisham, who had emergency open-heart surgery in November. Brasserie V dishes, beer and wine will be on hand for a suggested donation of $50.
The Heartland Beer Dinner will take place at the Sheraton's Heartland Grill on Jan. 17. Chef James Deptula and Isthmus beer writer Robin Shepard have crafted a five-course menu pairing.
