Ernst Lubitsch's 1924 sex comedy about the voracious Catherine the Great, Forbidden Paradise remade several decades later. It was begun by Lubitsch (who appears in a bit role), then completed by Otto Preminger following Lubitsch's illness. The result understandably lacks the master's famous touch, but it's an interesting hybrid.
