High school buddies explore the fabled land of beer, babes and body shots. This excruciatingly unfunny Superbad ripoff has all the comic gold of a barbed-wire condom. (M.S.)
College Road Trip
Released: 2008

An overprotective father (Martin Lawrence) accompanies his daughter (Raven-Symoné) on a college tour. This family comedy follows a predictable path, although some silly business with a hopped-up pig provides unexpected comic relief about halfway through. (S.D.)

An assassin (Zoe Saldana) seeks revenge for the murder of her parents in Colombia. This forgettable action pic lacks suspense and originality. (M.S.)
Colorado Territory
Released: 1949
Rated:

A virtual scene for scene remake of Walsh's 1941 gangster classic High Sierra, transposed to the Old West. The result: offbeat, fatalistic, a minor classic of a different kind.

Coma
Released: 1977
Rated:

Tense thriller about a sinister metropolitan hospital that is losing patients at an alarming rate. It's helped by Genevieve Bujold's expert performance as the unwitting sleuth, and ex-med student Crichton's eye for real-life detail.

Based on Edna Ferber's epic of the Wisconsin logging camps--although Howard Hawks, whose family hails from Neenah, claimed it was also modeled on the life and career of his own grandfather. Good, sprawling, flavorful; the last quarter hour is Wyler's

Come Back To The 5 An Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
Released: 1982
Rated:
Now Playing? No
It is the 20-year reunion of the Jimmy Dean fan club in a dusty, abandoned Texas town. As the old celebrants straggle in, we quickly see there are many dark secrets here, and that every one will be pulled, squirming, into the light. Robert Altman's movie transcription of his staging of the Ed Graczyk play is an incongruous triumph. Totally set-bound, without a single exterior shot, it becomes a moving evocation of the dark side of the American dream, of the tragedies of spent desires and lives lived in illusion.
Come Back, Little Sheba
Released: 1952
Rated:
Now Playing? No
Very flat and literal adaptation of one of William Inge's pieces of painful Kansas nostalgia. Shirley Booth's role as the slattern was highly celebrated.
Come Blow Your Horn
Released: 1963
Rated:

Frothy, Jewish family sex comedy about a swinging bachelor and the "bad example" he sets for his sibling. Not much, not bad--but it was the training ground for two men who later left their mark on American theater and television. Neil Simon and Norman Lear. (M.W.)

Comedy of Money
Released: 1936

Max Ophüls's lone Dutch film, on the perils of capital.
Comes A Horseman
Released: 1978
Rated:
Now Playing? No
Moralistic "modern" Western - the independents vs. the corrupt big ranchers--with some touching scenes. A good "liberal western" about corrupt big capital, fighting the little people - impressionistically shot by Gordon Willis, and superbly acted by everyone; I like Fonda better than in "Coming Home". It also offers you one of the few chances you'll ever have to see a violent death: Toward the end of the film, there's a shot of "Jason Robards" being dragged by his horse out a fenceway. In real life, in that very shot, the horse made a sudden turn, and the stuntman had his head taken right off.

Interviews with Joss Whedon, Stan Lee and others are included in filmmaker Morgan Spurlock's journey into the pop-culture fan mecca known as Comic-Con. (TMS)

Coming Home
Released: 1978
Rated:

A compassionate study of the flotsam of the Vietnam war; one returning vet damaged in spirit, another broken in body and the woman between them. Some of the most withering footage is of actual "paras," playing themselves in the hospital scenes. (M.W.)
