James Bond vs. Ernst Stavro Biofeld (and the insidious SMERSH) in Japan. One of the most elaborate of the Connery Bonds, with one of his better directors (Lewis Gilbert) - though the series was already beginning to show signs of bloat. (M.W.)
You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger
Released: 2010
Rated: R
Now Playing? No
Woody Allen’s latest comedy follows the discontents of two married couples (Anthony Hopkins and Gemma Jones, Naomi Watts and Josh Brolin). The characters are one-dimensional cutouts and their miseries are a bore. (K.J.)
You, Me and Dupree

Rated: PG-13

You're A Big Boy Now
Released: 1967
Rated:
Now Playing? No
Francis Coppola's MFA project at UCLA - a very "mod" very "Richard Lester" comedy about a young man's sexual awakening. Despite all the surface flash and gaiety, this is a very unpleasant film, full of dark edges and repressed hysteria. It also has a peculiar misogynistic intensity, exemplified by Coppola's casting of Karen Black and Elizabeth Hartman in the kind of roles - the "pure girl" and the "scheming slut" - in which the other is usually typecast. Coppola was much better when he began to handle alienation and sexual obsession seriously in The Rain People and The Conversation.

First with Sleepless in Seattle and now with You've Got Mail, Nora Ephron has tried to revive the spirit of movies she clearly loves.
Young @ Heart
Released: 2007
Rated: PG
Now Playing? No
Based in Northampton, Mass., the Young@Heart Chorus is a collection of golden oldies (average age, 80) who sing rock and punk standards like the Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated.” This extremely moving documentary takes us behind the scenes as the group prepares for a concert tour, and we get to know some of the members just well enough to miss them terribly when they’re gone. (K.W.)
Young Adam

Released: 2011
Rated: R

The writer and director of Juno team up for the story of an unhappy narcissist (Charlize Theron) who crazily returns to her hometown to hook up with her now married high school boyfriend (Patrick Wilson). Theron gives a brilliant performance, and the film sees the humor in various situations without making fun of the characters. (M.B.)
Young and Dangerous

Young and Innocent
Released: 1937
Rated: NR
Now Playing? No
Early Alfred Hitchcock thriller about a man on the run from a murder charge.
Young At Heart
Released: 1954
Rated:

Bland musical remake of the Depression era soaper Four Daughters. Sinatra sings a brace of his most affecting standards. (M.W.)
Young Dr. Kildare
Released: 1938
Rated:
Now Playing? No
The first official outing for this earnest young medico; created for the magazines, by Max Brand. (Joel McCrea had impersonated him earlier, for Paramount.) Incidentally, it's always seemed to me a that -- at least for public relations -- "Kildare" might be a tricky name for a physician; perhaps he should have changed it to "Cutwell" or "Goodhand". (But on the other hand, the first MD who ever checked out V.D. was named Dr. Grindrod"...)
Young Frankenstein
Released: 1974
Rated: PG
Now Playing? No
Respected medical lecturer Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (Gene Wilder) learns that he has inherited his infamous grandfather's estate in Transylvania. Arriving at the castle, Dr. Frankenstein soon begins to recreate his grandfather's experiments with the help of servants Igor (Marty Feldman), Inga (Teri Garr) and the fearsome Frau Blücher (Cloris Leachman). After he creates his own monster (Peter Boyle), new complications ensue with the arrival of the doctor's fiancée, Elizabeth (Madeline Kahn). (TMS)

Your Highness
Released: 2011

A cowardly, onanistic prince (Danny McBride) and his manly brother (James Franco) pursue an evil wizard (Justin Theroux). This sophomoric comedy is vulgur fun when it works. (M.S.)
Your Name is Justine
Released: 2005
Rated: NR

Your Sister's Sister
Released: 2011
Rated: R
Now Playing? No
An aging underachiever (Mark Duplass) falls into bed with his best friend's sister (Rosemarie DeWitt) in this smart, sad comedy by Lynn Shelton. Watch for a beautiful, ironic speech and a seduction scene that's as true as it is sweet. (K.B.)
Yours, Mine and Ours
Released: 2005
Rated: PG

Youth in Revolt
Released: 2010
Rated: R
Now Playing? No
A mostly friendless youth (Michael Cera) invents an alter ego for the sharp, educated girl (Portia Doubleday) who drives him wild. There's a lack of bite to the film, but it's an enjoyable enough exercise in teen angst triumphing. (K.J.)
Youth Without Youth
Released: 2007
Rated: R
Now Playing? No
In Francis Ford Coppola’s European-art-film-ish fantasia on such abstract ideas as the origins of language and the transmigration of souls, Tim Roth plays a Romanian professor who, as a result of being struck by lightning, becomes young again, this time with heightened mental powers. The movie’s at best a folly, at worst an outright annoyance, but it’s gorgeous to look at, and Coppola, after a 10-year absence, still has some moves. (K.W.)
