Reign Over Me: Two troubled men (Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle), one of whom lost his family on 9/11, rekindle their friendship. The actors do good work, though the film feels disjointed and sentimental.

You Kill Me: In this dark comedy, a Buffalo hitman (Ben Kingsley) moves to San Francisco to recover from alcoholism and meets a TV sales rep (Téa Leoni) with a personality like death warmed over. You may have trouble getting on the movie's somber wavelength, but the budding romance between Kingsley and Leoni is one of the more unorthodox push-pulls in recent memory.
