Over the course of some three weeks early in the fall, the gothic country duo writes one fan. "Some in the audience had heard some of their 'death country' sound before."
Sharing a couple photos of their set, he concludes: "Their set was unfortunately too short for my tastes."
One night and four states later, Those Poor Bastards found themselves playing in Fayetteville, N.C., kicking off the southern portion of the tour. Several live concert videos of the group in action follow, starting with a clip of their performance of "Crooked Man."
There are a half-dozen other videos from the Bastards show in Carolina, including performances of "Behold Black Sheep" (here), "God Damned Me" (here), "Family Graveyard" (here), "Stay Away From the Forest Boy" (here), "The Hellbound Train" (here) and a cover of "Pills I Took" (here), a song Wyatt wrote for Hank III's 2006 album Straight to Hell.
Those Poor Bastards ended their fall tour in early October with a show in Knoxville. "Thanks to all who came out for the Hank III tour," declared the band. "It was a nightmare come true."
