The Happening: M. Night Shyamalan's story of an airborne toxin that's causing people to spontaneously kill themselves is like a B-movie without the trash element, the sense of fun. And Mark Wahlberg, as a regular-guy science teacher who slowly - very slowly - figures out what's going on, doesn't help things, mostly because he's been given absolutely nothing to play.
You Don't Mess With the Zohan: Adam Sandler revels in the role of an Israeli super-commando whose secret desire is to cut and style hair. The movie is both consistently funny and surprisingly geopolitical, inspired perhaps by the opportunity to wallow in Arab and Israelis stereotypes.
