The Last Song, Me and Orson Welles
Released this week: Furry Vengeance
on

The Last Song: A sullen high school graduate and pianist (Miley Cyrus) catches the eye of a beach-volleyball hunk (Liam Hemsworth) in the latest Nicholas Sparks-penned romance to be made into a movie. The expression of dramatic complexity and nuance does not appear to be a part of Cyrus' vocabulary.

- Marjorie Baumgarten

Me and Orson Welles: A dreamy-eyed high-schooler stumbles into the part of his life as a walk-on in the New York theatrical production of Julius Caesar by Orson Welles (Christian McKay). Director Richard Linklater is clearly having fun here, and Zac Efron's puppyish enthusiasm is infectious.

- Kimberley Jones
