Perhaps you've only heard stories of the classic confines of O'Cayz Corral but never had the chance to see a show there before it burned down in the infant hours of the new century on Jan. 1, 2001. Or perhaps you're looking to reminisce over those times you did squeeze into the long narrow club on the corner of East Wilson and South Franklin streets in downtown Madison.
The unearthing of a vintage performance by the Cork 'N Bottle String Band gives you the chance to get a brief look inside the iconic club.
The concert video clip follows below.
The song performed in this video is the bluegrass standard "Sitting on Top of the World." Cork 'N Bottle celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2006, and plays weekly at the UW Memorial Union Rathskeller on Thursdays. A memorial to O'Cayz Corral, formerly owned by Madison music maven Cathy Dethmers, can be found inside her current temple of tunes, the High Noon Saloon.
