Will Against Me! lead vocalist Tom Gabel "acknowledge his critics when he launches into the band's set at what's certain to be a packed Stage Door?" That's the rhetorical question asked by Tom Laskin in his preview of the band's tour stop at the Orpheum Stage Door just over a week ago on Sunday, March 11. These critics question the group's political message and DIY ethos given its climb up the ladder of musical success and forthcoming major-label album due out this spring.
"Maybe," the Isthmus writer answers. The band certainly did put on an forceful show, at least as seen in the videos shot by concert-goers. The live concert video of Against Me! playing "Sink, Florida, Sink" follows below.
More information about the group can be found at its Wikipedia entry. Two more videos of the Against Me! show at the Stage Door are available for viewing -- their performances of "Don't Lose Touch" (here) and "Baby, I'm an Anarchist" (here). There are also two brief clips here and here of openers The Riverboat Gamblers dancing and thrashing about the stage in the small movie theater.
