Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Chris Garneu performed at Café Montmartre on Saturday night, one half of a bill also featuring Chicago's Track a Tiger.
"God, what a show," wrote Brad Vogel in a review of the songwriter's performance, which was organized by Madison music blogger Kyle Pfister. "The audience, not too large, not too small, ate it up," Vogel continued. "It was open, it was honest, it was mesmerizing. Even when called back enthusiastically for an encore -- only to stumble -- Garneau's candor bridged the gap."
Another fan attending the show shot a video clip of Garneau performing on the piano, accompanied by two cellists and a multi-instrumentalist. This live concert clip follows below.
"Garneau held the evening under a spell," Vogel concluded in his review. "People at my table agreed that if a night timeline of appropriate music is divided into courses like a multi-course meal, Garneau is the final item to be served."
