The small front space at Mother Fool's was crowded for a show by singer-songwriters Rose Polenzani and notes Nick Giffin in his review of the set, an observation also made by Kiki Schueler.
Both attendees commented favorably on the music, most of which featured Polenzani and Lewis performing together on guitar and keyboard. "Before starting, Rose explained that she and Sharon Lewis have toured together for a while," says Giffin, "and they both found they had more fun playing together rather than doing two separate sets." One of the songs they played together was "You Were Drunk," from their homemade limited-edition album Kings and Queens, which was captured on video by another person at the show.
This live concert video follows.
Also available for viewing is a video clip of Polenzani and Lewis performing their new album's title track, "Kings and Queens," at the Willy Street coffeehouse.
Schueler, who also shot a couple of photos from the show, concludes with these thoughts: "Coffee shops are never my favorite place to see a show, but I go there when I have to. I think it is safe to say that Rose and Sharon count as have-to's from now on."
