JAH Boogie has been making music for decades and is a busy member of two prolific Madison bands. In addition to playing bass in the local reggae outfit Natty Nation, he is also a vocalist and drummer in dumate.
This five-member hip-hop group juxtaposes classic hip-hop and high-tech mixing in its political rhymes and kinetic beats. Also featuring the talents of emcee D.L.O. along with Dudu Stinks, Man Mantis, and Bobby Peru, dumate won a 2008 Madison Area Music Award for its song "Juke Joint" as well as the 2006 award in the hip-hop artist category.
