The Omaha-based Rural Free Delivery cable channel, or RFD-TV, is planning a new variety show by Steve Hall and his famous puppet Shotgun Red. Hall and Red previously performed on Hee Haw and Nashville Now.
Madison country music guitarist, singer and songwriter Frank James has been selected to appear on the show. James flies to Branson, Mo., later this month to tape a segment that will air in April 2011.
According to James' wife, Sherry Abela, James will perform his song "All Over Again." He'll also be interviewed during the segment. "We are excited this will be a long-awaited career opportunity for Frank and his music," says Abela.
James has been playing gigs in Madison for 45 years and still performs every Thursday night at Tricia's Country Corners in McFarland.
