As this year's Halloween festivities on State Street ended without the kinds of trouble that had become frustratingly rote over the last four years, much more emphasis can be placed on the costumes. With a crowd about three times the size of Friday's yet less than half of those in recent year (estimated by the MPD at about 35,000), there were costumes of every type, size, taste and quality.
Working in collaboration with The Daily Page, The Daily Cardinal photographer Chris Guess captured images of the crowds and costumes up and down State Street on Saturday night (and early Sunday morning). A photo gallery focusing on costumes -- including Elvis, coneheads, Transformers, and the Milwaukee Brewers' sausages -- is available at right.
