If you were arrested at the Halloween revelry on State Street this year, you're already familiar with the arrest process. For those who weren't, though, the Madison police department briefly opened the doors to its arrest processing center on Saturday night. About 15 members of the media, mostly broadcast, were given a briefing and permitted to shoot footage of the center, which was located in the parking garage beneath the City-County Building.
The tour started with a briefing from an MPD officer who explained the system and answered questions from reporters.
Following the briefing, the assembled media were allowed to take distance photos and videos of the center, but were warned not to zoom in so as not to violate the privacy of any arrested juveniles.
There total number of arrests over both nights of the Halloween weekend numbered 230.
