The commission receives a status report on the city's efforts to update its downtown plan. The plan focuses on improving lake access and creating high-density development. The commission also considers a proposal by the owners of Bunky's Café to move the restaurant to the former site of the Atwood Community Center. The new restaurant would include seating for 80. The development also have a private apartment for the restaurant's owners, Teresa Pullara-Ouabel and Rachid Ouabel, on the second floor.

The committee considers whether to suspend the operator license for A Place for Friends bar on Sherman Avenue. Madison police say the north side bar has sold alcohol after hours and been the site of a fight.

This last meeting of the year is a routine affair, with the board approving a new contract with the Dane County Humane Society.
