Mad about Madworks
Thanks for your story about Madison's coworking community ("Collaboration Through Chance Encounters," 2/15/2013). I'd like to point out an omission: Madworks Coworking.
Our spacious office at 8401 Greenway Blvd. offers comfortable common areas and dedicated desks. All memberships include unlimited conference room use, free parking, bottomless coffee and use of the building's workout facility. We regularly host in-office and out-of-office happy hours for our 17 members. Memberships start at $50 for use of the shared space, and $100 for your own desk.

Guns trump box cutters
Certainly it was not a brilliant move for Rep. Brett Hulsey to try to force an aide to take self-defense training from him, using a box cutter that he brought to the office ("Rep. Hulsey Brings Box Cutter to Capitol," 3/8/2013). But what is far dumber, more dangerous and - in my opinion - sinister is for any of our legislators to carry loaded concealed guns in the Capitol, as some do (State Rep. Bill Kramer, R-Waukesha, is one).
These gun-carriers apparently are afraid of their own shadows in a climate created by themselves, and I fear the carnage that could result should their paranoia someday cause them to use this hideous overcompensation against anyone.
