Thank you for Linda Falkenstein's excellent article on the Farley Center's new multicultural CSAs ("Multicultural CSAs," 1/31/2013). Your readers should know that if they join the Farley Center CSA, or most of the CSAs in the Madison area, they can get a $200 rebate from their HMO. This investment in preventive health care helps families afford to eat healthy, fresh organic vegetables direct from area farms. You can learn more at www.farleycenter.org.

Care Net questions story
Judith Davidoff's article "Required Counseling Before a Court-Approved Abortion" (2/8/2013) included inaccuracies and false assumptions regarding Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County. The anonymous social worker quoted alienates Care Net as "an anti-choice agency," and Nicole Safar states that Care Net "doesn't provide the full spectrum of information."
These statements are not true. Care Net provides options, help and support for women facing unplanned pregnancies and concerns about their sexual health. We offer professional pregnancy-related medical services, education, a residential program and ongoing support.
We operate with the utmost integrity, providing information that is medically accurate and sensitive to each client's needs. We seek to empower women to make informed pregnancy choices because women deserve a safe place to turn, one with no vested interest in the critical decision she makes regarding her pregnancy or sexual health.
Our medical personnel, staff and client advocates, using the state of Wisconsin booklet "Information About Fetal Development, Birth and Abortion," tell clients that they have three choices: continue the pregnancy and parent, continue the pregnancy and have someone else parent the child, or end the pregnancy now by having an abortion. We provide information from this booklet about women's legal rights, fetal development, types of abortion procedures, medical and psychological risks, and pregnancy, labor and delivery risks and complications. Any woman should have this information before making a decision regarding her pregnancy, and we provide it in a nonjudgmental, compassionate way.

Taxes, the hard way
I was amused by Larry Kaufmann's plans to improve a "horrible system" ("Tax Code vs. Democracy," 2/8/2013). To improve it, he suggests that the government send us checks that we endorse and mail back. I am sure the federal and state government would appreciate opening millions of letters with endorsed checks and matching them to taxpayers. Talk about efficient use of government resources! Does he also suggest that these letters be delivered by horse and buggy?

Movie not lame
I read the review of the movie Safe Haven in Isthmus ("Recycled Romance," 2/15/2013) and even though the reviewer felt it was pretty lame, we decided to go anyway.
It was one of the best movies we've seen in quite a while! Such suspense and such wonderful acting!! Did the reviewer really see the movie?
