In February, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a federal lawsuit seeking to overturn Wisconsin's ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions. U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb is expected to rule soon on the constitutionality of the ban, and both the Dane and Milwaukee County Clerk's offices are expecting a rush on couples seeking marriage licenses should it be overturned.
Isthmus news editor Judith Davidoff reported on how two county clerks are preparing their offices in case the ban is overturned in the May 30 issue, and discussed her story with WORT producer Dylan Brogan on the May 29 edition of In Our Backyard.
